PF NATIONAL DRIVERS GROUP
As Patriotic Front members who love the party and wish to see it thrive we would like to respond to the actions of Lusaka Province Youth Chairman Kennedy Kamba’s threats directed at Ephraim Shakafuswa.
We belong to the PF National Drivers Group which is composed of members from Luapula, Copperbelt, Muchinga, Northern, North-Western, Lusaka, Central and Eastern Provinces of Zambia. We would like to further acknowledge that there are other subsidiary groups linked to us like Save Our Beloved PF and PF Women Drivers. Combined, we have members from across the length and breadth of Zambia.
We condemn in the strongest terms the actions of our lost brother Kennedy Kamba and urge him stop behaving like he is the PF National Youth Chairman. We would like to remind Kennedy Kamba that we as law abiding members of the party whether acting alone or as a group have an constitutional right to freely belong and express ourselves within the realms of the laws of Zambia.
Mr Kamba will therefore do well to realize that the violent brand of politics which he used to bloody and devastating effect as Ex-Secretary General Wynter Kabimba’s head lieutenant when he was fighting against the progress of our current President have no place in the politics we aspire to because violence is for leaders without the requisite intellect to lead without violence.
We would also like to encourage Mr Kamba to take an honest look at the state of the party and acknowledge that our calls to have the current Secretary General Mr Davies Mwila replaced with the very able Mr Kelvin Fube Bwalya have nothing to do with ill motive. This is not about the current Secretary General and KBF. This is about our beloved Patriotic Front and the future. It is about healing the party and breathing a fresh lease of life in the party and bringing it back to life. We would like to believe that every PF member who loves the party would like to see a better PF and this is our cause. A better and stronger PF that we can all be proud of.
We appreciate the effort of Mr Mwila and applaud his service to the party but cannot accept to sit by and watch him destroy this great Party with ineffective to non-existent strategies, a lack of innovation, forsaking of the youths and women folk, unconstitutional punishments and extremely bad people skills. We believe that good people skills and relations are a basic requirement for a Secretary General.
The nation may not know that we sent a freelance reporter to interview Mr Davies Mwila but he did not answer nor call back for the 48 hours our reporter tried to reach him. Our tried his office but was unable to make any headway. We sent the same reporter to interview Mr Kelvin Fube Bwalya and upon making contact was given an appointment for 07:30 the following day. He carried out the interview and actually had tea with KBF after the interview. In fact it was from this interview that we got the content of our Zambia for Zambians publication upon hearing how KBF’s thoughts around the current plight of the PF youths and women are inspired by a Zambia for Zambians, something we realized translates into a better PF and by extension a better Zambia.
Patriotic Front members must not be threatened for expressing themselves and certainly not by a paid mob. The reality of the current situation is that the party needs restoration and direction. We all know what Mr Daivies Mwila has done in the past, we know his successes and we know his failures. We have also observed that he has not learnt from his parliamentary failure and has continued to practice politics and leadership of using money to make things look better than they really are.
On the other hand we all know what KBF has done for this Party and believe he has the right tools about him to bring us out of the hole that that Mr Mwila has put us in. We all know that from the things he has done for our beloved PF he deserves the challenge and is just what we need to deal with NDC and UPND. Even his last appointment was under Hon. Jean Kapata and the less said about that, the better. We believe it is time to give him a genuine leadership role where he can freely express his ability.
Our party is in disarray and there is no real plan for the youths and women who are the most vulnerable yet most valuable members any party. We would like to believe that our voice matters as members and knowing that our cry is the same across the country, we are only asking for one Christmas gift this year and it is that our President Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu gives us Mr Kelvin Fube Bwalya – KBF as Secretary General of the Patriotic Front.
