The Zambia National team came short of delivering the perfect birthday present to President Edgar Lungu when they surrendered a 2-1 lead in added time to draw 2-2 with Cameroon.

President Lungu had joined the crowd at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium with the hype around the Chipolopolo delivering the ultimate birthday present.

A 25th minute Patson Daka in collaboration with Fashion Sakala brought back memories of the U-20 success story that the public gleefully feasted on through the Africa Cup and FIFA World Cup at junior level.
Cameroon replied in the 30th minute through Andre Zambo who rocketed a powerful shot in the left corner to silence the partisan Zambian crowd.

There was joy for the home crowd as Mwepu conjured a top class move that he weaved through to Daka who laid the ball for Mwila to give Zambia a 2-1 lead.
It was not to be a lucky day for Zambia as Yaya Banana struck in additional time to make it 2-2.

The reigning African champions have missed out on World Cup qualification where they have made seven appearances.

  1. Comment:the problem was the presence of who is busy denting mother Zambia.
Take a good analysis he has been denting the nation.

  2. Anything that he does, don’t match properly because of his uncertainty of personality. I think even his birthday is the fake one. He’s a curse to Zambia.
