The Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) has bemoaned the current trend where commercial s*x workers on the Copperbelt are shunning Government programmes aimed at empowering them, opting for quick money through their usual business.

YWCA Copperbelt coordinator Sharon Chisanga said in an interview yesterday that attempts to empower commercial s*x workers have failed in the past because they want quick money.

Mrs Chisanga said recently, the association conducted a skills training programme for the commercial s*x workers in Kitwe and Kalulushi to give them funds after their training but that they all disappeared.

“Our commercial s*x workers refuse to sell beans or Kapenta claiming that the sales do not generate immediate income as being a s*x worker”
