#moral – NO MONEY NO LOYALTY : MUMBA YACHI LEFT IN ‘UNDERWEAR

MUSICIAN Shadreck Chite Mukenge aka Mumba Yachi has been left literally holding his briefs as his Lawyers Eddie Mwitwa and Mwape Bwalya, both from Mwenye and Mwitwa Advocates have stopped representing him over ‘Nkani yaka ng’ono’ (money).

Mukenge who is facing Immigrations related charges including illegal entry and stay in Zambia was being represented by Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) vice-president Eddie Mwitwa until the legal counsel decided he would not give a ‘free concert’.

The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) have gone missing after loudly proclaiming they would come to the aid of one their own after Mukenge was arrested.

ZAM President Njoya Tembo aka Njoya T has loudly been missing in the affair after Mukenge’s release from detention.

This came to light yesterday when Mukenge appeared for trial in the court of Lusaka magistrate Ruth Kapulo with a new pro bono lawyer Kasumpa Kabalata who asked the court for time to get instructions from her client and come to speed with the matter.

Despite the state prosecutors protest, the court which took exception to the fact that it had not received formal application from Mwitwa to withdraw gave the new counsel 7 days in which to get her client’s affairs in order.
