Being Tonga is not a curse, says UPND deputy Secretary general Patrick Mucheleka.
But ruling PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri doubled down her attacks, saying the opposition UPND only had themselves to blame for any tribal association against party president Hakainde Hichilema and the party in general.
Speaking with Zambian Watch today, Mucheleka said the same ruling party that had failed to run the national affairs was trying to use UPND leader Hichilema’s Tonga tribe as the last straw to hung on to power.
“I have told Hichilema that you are the next President, being a Tonga is not a curse. It’s something that those who have failed to run this country in whatever sphere are trying to hung on. The economy, the politics, they have miserably failed,” Mucheleka said.
“They feel HH is the biggest obstacle and threat to their Presidency. But whether they like it or not, Hichilema is the next President in 2021″ said Patrick Mucheleka.
But Patriotic Front Deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri says Hichilema remains the biggest tribal leader in the History of Zambia.
She says Hichilema does not mean well to other tribes and he must not be allowed to the nearest collidors of State house.
