Hundreds of Barotse National Freedom Alliance (BNFA) members from Mongu, Kalabo, Senanga, Sesheke including Kazungula, comprisesing of Men, youths and women have gathered at Limulunga Royal palace demanding to be addressed by the Ngambela of Barotseland Mr Mukela Manyando. The BNFA leadership together with their District Committees says they will camp at the BRE upto Friday until the Ngambela addresses them on the issue of Barotseland Statehood.
This Morning the BNFA regions across Barotseland travelled to Limulunga to try and seek to have a meeting with the KUTA and the Ngambela. But the BRE refused to meet them saying they were not ready to meet with them instead the BNFA should leave and come back to the KUTA on Friday 14th June,2019.
The Zambia police tried to intimidate and disperse them this afternoon but failed. The BNFA have maintained that they will continue camping at the kuta until the Ngambela tells them as to why the BRE were failing to honor the BNC resolutions of March 2012.
In 2012 the Barotse National Council (BNC), the highest policy making body in Barotseland, which was organized and sanctioned by the Litunga voted to separate Barotseland from Zambia but the Litunga and the BRE have been underplaying these resolutions.
