Majority of Indunas and Likombwa (Stewards) at the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) are fade up with the Leadership of Litunga Lubosi Imwiko II, king of Barotseland, and they may resign before December this year.
The Indunas are so annoyed and disappointed by the manner in Which His Majesty the Litunga, Lubosi Imwiko II and his counterpart Edgar Lungu has dribbled them in relation to the Barotseland Agreement of 1964 restoration deal which they were promised to address earlier in 2016. The Induna’s feel to be cheated and dribbled enough they can not continue to work with the Litunga who doesn’t care for the welfare of his people.
“Your Litunga doesn’t care for Barotseland and his people neither does he care for us his Indunas. He only cares for Lungu and himself. Just look even at those Bambeti who work for him 24/7 everyday just their clothes you can cry. They have no food no shelter they are just paid k180 as monthly salary, i tell you there life is misery” a certain Senior Induna to Barotseland Broadcasting Network.
Another senior Induna also told Barotseland Broadcasting Network (BBN), that Litunga Lubosi Imwiko’s leadership has worsened these days such he Litunga has no time to listen to his people nor meeting his Induna’s as he spends most of his time doing his personal businesses as he spends most of time at his farm in Kaate and having treacherous deals in Lusaka. “We have no Litunga here , this man never stays in this Palace, almost everyday is in kaate at his farm ,if not kaate then he is in Lusaka or kabwe. He has no time for Bulena nor time to hear from his people or indunas about how his kingdom is moving, never, ki wa li business fela”. Complained another senior induna.
LITUNGA Lubosi Imwiko has so many money deals he gets from the Zambian Government and other avenues, he collects monies from Markets and Bus stations. Airtel, MTN and Zamtel pays him a lot of moneys for erecting Network towers across Barotseland and for each tower it’s k3000 per month. Litunga Lubosi Imwiko Il also gets £3000 monthly allowances from African Parks for Iiuwa national park and Kaza project for Sioma ngwezi park. He also gets k200,000 Annually from the Zambian Government (in the name of Barotse Royalties) plus a monthly salary of k26,000 all year round. Despite having so many deals and the under hand cash flows from the Zambian Government litunga Lubosi Imwiko Il shares his monies only with his children leaving his Indunas’s, Bambeti and Likombwa wallowing in abject poverty.
