The Lusaka High Court has upheld ZNBC’s right to reject airing of opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) adverts on account that they were not in good ethical taste.
High Court judge Petronella Ngulube rejected the UPND application for the court to compel ZNBC to air their adverts as part of the campaign process.
Judge Ngulube said the UPND should have used other avenues available to them rather than rushing to court.
The UPND has been at war with ZNBC over limited coverage and also being blacked out in terms of political adverts.
ZNBC had refused to air some paid for adverts by the UPND saying they did not meet the public broadcaster’s ethical standards.
