THE bodies for two people that drowned on Lake Kariba in Siavonga District have been retrieved.

Last week on Friday, two Yalelo employees identified as Rodney Chilongu and Isaac Banda drowned on the lake when the engine for the boat they were in while on duty allegedly sticked to a lop and capsized.

On Tuesday at 06:40 hours a combined team of marine police, local divers and yalelo staff managed to retrieve Chilongu’s body which was later taken to University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka for postmortem.

And on Wednesday around 07:00 hours Banda’s body was also retrieved not very far from where Chilongu’s body was recovered.

The body of the late Banda was buried at Siavonga cemetery on Wednesday evening.
