ZMA president Dr Aaron Mujajati

DOCTOR Aaron Mujajati has clarified that alcohol abuse is the country’s leading cause of mental illness among young people is and not Marijuana as is widely believed.

Dr Mujajati made the remarks in a posting on his Facebook page this morning.

Marijuana also known as weed is currently shrouded in controversy and is subject of heated and emotional debates in the country as to whether Zambia should legalise it or not.

“ALCOHOL abuse is the main driver behind the rise in mental illness among young people. Weed is innocent. Yes I said it,” wrote Dr Mujajati.
