EMMANUEL ‘JAY JAY’ BANDA GOES SOLO TO FACE DORA SILIYA IN PETAUKE

Patriotic Front (PF) Eastern Province Chairman Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda has vowed that he will contest the Petauke Central seat as an independent candidate.

Banda was left out in the final list of the adoptions.
However, Banda says he will contest and face Ms. Dora Siliya in the August election, adding that his support will be for President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

He said as much as he respected the decision of the Central Committee, it was his researched decision that his availability in the August election will bring more votes to President Lungu’s bid for re-election.

“I respect the decision by the Central Committee, but I have to say that I will contest as an independent Member of Parliament in the August election in Petauke. I want to add more votes for the President. I don’t want people who are my supporters to be frustrated by the decision of few individuals to leave me out of the ballot. I have decided that looking at what President Lungu has done, it is time for me to continue supporting him in a much more critical manner by ensuring that I contest and campaign for him,” he said.

Banda explained that Petauke and the entire Eastern Province has experienced more development under the leadership of President Lungu, and therefore, there was need to help the Head of State retain power in order to continue.
