ERIC CHANDA DUMPS PF FOR UPND
Veteran politician, Eric Chanda has dumped the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) to join the opposition UPND.
Speaking shortly after being welcomed to the Party by UPND National Chairman, Stephen Katuka, Mr Chanda cited failed leadership as the reason for dumping the PF.
He stressed that the high poverty levels in the country were an indication of failed PF leadership.
“Are we ready to continue with the economic challenges? No! We need fresh brains! The current brains are not able to provide leadership that can change the economic outlook of the country. The fresh blood for me lies in HH; it lies in the UPND. What we need are brains that can provide leadership to this country. I am going out there and make sure that I sell the name of President Hakainde Hichilema,” he said.
And welcoming Mr Chanda, Katuka stressed that Mr Chanda was welcome to work with the UPND.
He also urged him to freely participate in the numerous party activities during the campaign.
“Welcome to the UPND a party of love and unity. We share the vision with people of like minds. He has seen that there is no future for him in PF, you are welcome here we put the country and it’s people first” said Katuka.
