THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) joins the football family in mourning the late Brigadier General John Musonda who served as General Secretary from 2004-2007.
General Musonda served football in various capacities including being FAZ Technical Committee Chairman and was part of the contingent at the 1988 Seoul Olympics where Zambia famously reached the quarterfinals.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala paid glowing tribute to General Musonda who died aged 69 years.
“We are saddened by the demise of General Musonda whose service to football is a matter of public record. He served the game in various capacities including being General Secretary and Technical Committee chairperson,” Kashala stated.
“It is our prayer that the family may be consoled in this time of sorrow.”
General Musonda died on Wednesday evening in a road traffic accident in Lusaka at Cross Roads junction.
