Green Eagles defender Mateo Ndashe has been ommited from the club’s squad for the 2019/20 league season after the player himself requested to be left out, a source close to the development has told ZambianSoccerNet.
The source revealed that Ndashe was upset after he was left out of the squad for the CECAFA Kagame Cup, and when he was told by club officials that he would not be part of the CAF Champions League squad, he requested to be left out of the Super League squad for the upcoming season altogether.
The source went on to say that Ndashe, who featured in 6 matches in the transitional league season including the Absa Cup semi final against Zanaco, had not expected the club to follow through on his verbal request.
The source added that Ndashe hopes to hold talks with head coach Aggrey Chiyangi concerning his future with the club.
Meanwhile five other players have been left out of the champions league squad but have been registered for the Super League. These are Lazarous Phiri, Muma Mumba, Joseph Mwindilila, Muna Mwaba and Ray Mutale.
Collins Mulenga, Progress Kalenga (both Nkana), Isaac Simbuwa (Napsa Stars) and Anos Tembo (Lumwana Radiants) have been shipped out on loan, while Kizito Cheelo, Wilbroad Mutale, Langson Mbewe and Kabamba Chilibwe have been released.
