Fwayo Tembo

Former Chipolopolo winger Fwayo Tembo says his return to Power Dynamos after almost 16 months of unaccounted for absence is aimed at reviving his football career that has been characterised by salary wrangles at the Ndeke township club.

Tembo expressed regret that he could not professionally handle issues that led to his disappearance adding that he now understood the importance of dialogue and discipline for every player despite being highly celebrated.

In an interview with Goal Diggers! Tembo acknowledged that he had wasted his talent due to minor wrangles with Dynamos’ management, and pledged to clear any controversy surrounding his football career.

“After months of leaving the club in a bad way, friends and family has helped me get back to my senses and rekindle my relationship with Power Dynamos and the entire football sport. By now I could have done more and better achievements but things got out of the hand and I could not handle them professionally. This is my return to football and am returning as a changed player,” he said.

Tembo who has history of leaving his 2010 European club FC Basel on account of having accused his then club coach Thorsten Frank of making racist remarks towards him during training sessions, further acknowledged that it was easy for a heralded player to lose a fanbase and the talent due to failure to maintain good conduct.

“It really does not matter how big a player is but if he is not able to maintain good conduct, even fans can ditch you. There are others that will be happy to see me back on the pitch while others will still be displeased with my disappearance that was not ceremoniously at all,” said Tembo.
