Government has urged Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotion to appeal the fight between Catherine Phiri and Fatuma Zarika to the World Boxing Council.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Sports, Zambia Professional Boxing and Wrestling Control Board Secretary Expendito Chipalo says government is concerned with the results of the fight and believes Catherine won.

And OQBP Manager Christopher Malunga says the Promotion has written to the WBC complaining over some rules and regulations which were not followed by the Boxing Board of Kenya.

Malunga says there were serious abrogations against the regulations of the WBC by the boxing board before and during the fight.

Social media was buzzing with not only Zambians sensing foul play, but Kenyans echoed the same sentiments & took to twitter to share their sentiments.

He has further told journalists that WBC has acknowledged receiving the complaint and is investigating the matter.
