FOOTBALL Association of Zambia general secretary Adrian Kashala says Zambian football will lack global representation after Janny Sikazwe was suspended by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Kashala said it was hard to comprehend with the suspension because fans were still celebrating Janny’s achievements.
“The suspension is not a good thing at all because he is not a mere referee, he is a FIFA referee who has represented Zambia and Africa at those international levels. His ban means we will be lacking on the expertise and representation because Janny has driven a lot in young people,” Kashala said.
“Not long ago we were celebrating his achievements and such a thing we cannot comprehend. We hope CAF will resolve this matter soonest so that he can get back to the pitch.”
CAF suspended Janny for alleged biased officiating during the Champions League semi-final match between Tunisian side Esperance and Premeiro Agusto of Angola and he is yet to exculpate himself and until then, he will not officiate.
