J League star midfielder Kosuke Nakamachi is set to join a Zambian Club after he turned down a 2 year contract extension at his club Yokohama Marinos.

” Everyone who supports marinos thank you for supporting the players, it was my seventh season at the club and I longed and dreamed to play for Marinos and the club offered me a two year contract and Im 33 years old and feel its not enough so for the 2019 season Im going to transfer to a team in Zambia and I dont have a contract yet and Id like to connect Japan and Africa with this transfer and its a decision that I feel should make me progress in my football career and there will be a high physicality where Im going but its the significance of the transfer thats important” said Nakamachi on his Instagram post.

Nakamachi did not however reveal which Zambian club he was referring to but in the post which is accompanied by a video he is seen playing football in an area thats identified as Ndola Wanderers Rugby club raising speculation that he could either join Zesco United of Buildcon FC though neither of the clubs train from that venue.

The midfielder wore number 8 at Marinos featuring for the club 214 times and scoring 19 goals with his last match being a 2-1 loss to Cerezo Osaka which took place on the 1st of December, 2018.

He leaves the club which he joined in 2012 and japanese Media is already hyping his move including the Japanese Times as becomes the second Japanese player to venture into the Zambian Super league after current Second Division Tokyo Verdy Youth Coach Yo Matsuo had joined City of Lusaka FC in the 2009 season and played a number of matches for the Woodlands based side.
