The two warring parties – legend Soccer icon Kalusha Bwalya and FAZ president Andrew Kamanga have agreed to work together for the betterment of the game.
The duo personal difference dating back to the time Kalusha served as FAZ president have had an effect on the game.
Today, Sports Minister Emmanuel Mulenga disclosed that the two will now put back their differences.
Sports unifies us regardless of our political affiliation in Zambia. In the interest of this unity, it is important that all stakeholders work together for the common good.
Two weeks ago, I, as the new Minister of Youth and Sports met with the current Football Association of Zambia president Mr Andrew Kamanga and we discussed at length ways of improving our sport and relationship with stakeholders.
Today, Saturday on my way to Morocco, I made a four hour stop over in South Africa where I met our football legend Mr. Kalusha Bwalya and as usual we discussed a lot to improve our football.
Of particular interest during my meeting with Mr. Andrew Kamanga weeks ago, he had pledged to work with everyone including Mr. Kalusha Bwalya.
During my meeting today in South Africa, Mr. Kalusha Bwalya has also agreed to work with Mr. Kamanga for the good of the game and the country.
In short, the two have agreed to reconcile their differences and work for the good of the country.
In the next ten days, I will hold a meeting with Mr. Andrew Kamanga and Mr.Kalusha Bwalya in Lusaka, where we will discuss the future of Zambian football and other sporting disciplines in the country and the reconciliation process.
As Minister in charge of Sports, it has made me happy that the seemingly differences between the two will come to an end.
