Kalusha Bwalya has been ranked joint 13th most popular African football legend along with Egyptian Mahmoud Al Khatib, following a ‘poll’ conducted by France Football and published in their June-July edition.

George Weah was listed as the most popular amongst the legends after receiving 195 points.

Samuel Eto’o was second with 119 points, while his compatriot Rodger Milla in third scored 108 points.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Seydou Keita and Rashidi Yekini did not receive any votes.

Each of the 43 journalists, one per African country, had the duty of signing five footballers in decreasing order of merit from a given list of 30 players already pre-selected by the editorial staff of France Football.

The first player on the list was awarded 6 points, 4 for the second decreasing to 3, 2 and 1 respectively.
