The organizers of African American Home coming team have told Barotseland Broadcasting Network (BBN) that Guest of Honour at the 400 years pilgrimage anniversary celebrations of anti-slave trade including the ground breaking activity of Multi-Million dollars state of the Art Restoration Center Headquarters for Africa, that is to be built in Mongu, Barotseland. Will no longer be graced by President Edgar Lungu as earlier announced but instead it will be graced by His Majesty the Litunga (King) of Barotseland, Lubosi Imwiko II.
The organizing Committee of the African American Home Coming didn’t state the reasons as to why they decided to change the Guest of Honour . But some sources at the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) have disclosed to BBN that the BRE directed to change the Guest of Honour and that the Guest of Honor should be the Litunga as the activity was happening in his area.
Meanwhile, the African American team today paid a courtesy at the American Embassy in Lusaka and tomorrow 8th August, 2019. The team will be travelling to Barotseland for the 400 years pilgrimage anniversary celebrations including the ground breaking activity of Multi-Million dollars state of the Art Restoration Center Headquarters for Africa, that is to be built in Mongu. The team is expected to arrive in Barotseland tomorrow at 16:30 hours.
