THE Lusaka provincial administration staff on Monday were assembled to suspend work to go and present a birthday cake to their Minister, Bowman Lusambo.
A source at the provincial administration said all members of staff were ordered by Lusaka Province deputy permanent secretary to join PF cadres in dancing and delivering a cake to Lusambo.
The surprise party staged during working hours saw PF cadres sing and dance in Lusambo’s office saying ‘boss walyendelela’.
“The boostele song was in praise of Lusambo on his birthday which fell on Monday. All staff at provincial administration have been marshaled to suspend work to go and present a birthday cake to Honourable Lusambo. His cake was delivered at his office and staff were ordered by the DPS to be there for a surprise party,” said the source. “Aye aye Bowman wilalwala walyendelela, Aye aye Bowman wilalwala walyendelela. Boss, boss ngenamo lololo lololo, Boss, boss ngenamo, lololo lololo,” the cadres sang as Lusambo danced along.
On his Facebook page, Lusambo thanked management and staff at his office for a surprise birthday treat.
Further Lusambo said the youths from Lusaka Province flocked to his office in large numbers to “show some love and appreciation for the work we are doing for the people”.
“As this special day draws to a close, I wish to sincerely thank everyone that wished me a happy birthday. Special thank you to the management and staff at my office for a surprise birthday treat and the outpouring of love shown to me. Furthermore, thank you to the youths from Lusaka Province who flocked to my office in large numbers late afternoon to show some love and appreciation for the work we are doing for our people,” said Lusambo.
“As a grassroots politician, it is always pleasing to be surrounded by genuine party members who believe in our work.”
