Lubwa is Ours ! NDC.
The opposition NDC has successfully filled in its nominations for the forthcoming lubwa ward by election in kitwe.
NDC candidate Ronald Banda was the first to file in his nomination bid at around 09:00hrs.
Mr Banda is a prominent kitwe businessman, and mining expert who once worked for the defunt Zambia Consolidated Copper mines as a senior manager.
100 of NDC supporters from across the country accompanied Mr Banda as he filled in his nomination papers at Riveran Primary school in Nkana East this morning.
And Mr Banda says his poised to scoop the Lubwa seat because he has a development agenda for the area.
Addressing his supporters after the filling in of his nominations, Mr Banda said the people of Kitwe and the Copperbelt in general are tired with the economic mismanagement that the pf is subjecting it’s citizens.
He has promised to address the water challenges that Lubwa ward is faced with adding that he shall also address the security and health concerns residents are raising.
The NDC Lubwa ward hopeful is calling for peaceful campaigns ahead of the by-election slated for July 30, 2019.
Mr Banda has since thanked NDC President Dr Chishimba Kambwili, the party Central Committee and all party members on the copperbelt for having confidence in his candidacy.
The search for Mr Banda as NDC Lubwa ward candidate comes after a vigorous identification campaign.
Five prospective candidates had applied to be adopted on the NDC ticket for the Lubwa seat.
The Lubwa seat fell vacant following the death of Godfridah Chulu who was the pf ward councilor.
And copperbelt Provincial Chairman Chipoka Mulenga says victory is certain for the NDC in the Lubwa ward race.
Prominent among those present at the nomination Centre included NDC National Youth Chairman Charles Kabwita, MCC for Information and Broadcasting Mischeck Moyo, MCC’s Kate Kayombo and Mary Banda. Others were NDC Deputy Media Director Kirby Kaoma Musonda and Lusaka Province IPS Kidson Katunta.
NDC President Dr Chishimba Kambwili is expected to join the Lubwa ward campaigns soon.
