So much of your achievements, that I don’t know which angle to take to do justice to your noble contributions to the liberation of Mother Zambia. Maybe, for now, I take my time to consult the likes of Sara Imutowana Yeta II, Dr Akashambatwa Mbikusita-Lewanika etc. Again read from different sources and then finally emerge the best information such as below:
1. It’s arguably that he is the true founding father of the modern Zambia and initiator of the struggle for independence in the then Northern Rhodesia.
2. Mbikusita Lewanika his endevour are illustrated, in an acknowledgment of his contribution, Simon Zukas grants that “He had established a good relationship with the Indian High Commissioner in Nairobi (Kenya) … and obtained several scholarships for Northern Rhodesian Africans to study in India … Simon Kapwepwe and Munu (kayumbwa) Sipalo had already been sent there.”
3. In regard to the fight against colonial rule, BB is the father of modern nationalist politics in Zambia . He helped establish the first political party in Zambia, then Northern Rhodesia, called Northern Rhodesia Congress (NRC) in 1948, which then changed its name to the Northern Rhodesia African Congress (NRAC) and then later to the Northern Rhodesia African National Congress (NRANC) and he was its first leader. He brought about a new political dispensation in Northern Rhodesia or colonial Zambia, after leading the Kitwe African Society.
4. He also wrote several other books and publishing articles, in Africa and overseas, and later translated the Bible and the classic Pilgrim’s Progress into SiLozi. He wrote the English-Bemba phrase book(1948) and English-Lozi phrase book among others
