The Ruling PF says the party will not be stranded if the constitutional court declares President Edgar Lungu ineligible to stand for presidency in 2021 general elections.
Speaking to Diamond News in an exclusive interview, PF Deputy Secretary General, Mumbi Phiri says the party is ready for any outcome.
And Governance, Elections, Advocacy and Research Services Executive Director, McDonald Chipenzi says this is a defining moment in as far as the role of the court in interpreting the constitution is concerned.
The constitutional court is tomorrow Friday expected to deliver judgement on whether or not President Edgar Lungu is eligible to contest as president in 2021.
This follows a petition by four opposition party leaders who are asking the ConCourt to determine whether president Lungu could stand in the next election.
The four are Danny Pule of the Christian Democratic Party, Wright Musoma from Zambia Republican Party, Peter Chanda of the New Congress Party and Robert Mwanza from the Citizen Democratic Party.
