Former defence minister Davies Chama says in addition to Edwin Lifwekelo’s statement that the PF won the 2021 elections during the issuance of NRCs and voters registration, the party actually ensured its stay in office for a long time to come after winning the 2011 general elections.

PF member Lifwekelo told Daily Revelation that the 2021 general elections were won during the issuance of National Registration Cards and voters register, where he said PF did their home work by mobilising their supporters to turn out in numbers for the two registration exercises.

Asked if he concurred with what Lifwekelo said, Chama said: “In addition to that we won elections immediately we were elected in 2011, we will continue to win elections because we are a serious government like I have said. Us we work we believe in transformation…(late) president Michael Sata said give me the country to turn it around and change it…and his successor Dr Edgar Lungu has continued on this transformation,” Chama said. “So yes what Lifwekelo said maybe true in his own perspective but we won elections immediately we were ushered into office in 2011.”

Chama said he was confident that the PF would be in power for the next 50 years.

“So for the next 50 years if we have done so much in nine years you can just imagine Zambia will be totally different place. I can only wish the Zambian people well and to continue trusting President Lungu and PF government because we mean well and we have embarked on a journey to make sure that Zambia is a totally different country altogether,” he said.

Chama said as the PF chief campaign coordinator for Lusaka Province, the aim was to get to close to 80 percent of the 1.2 million (over 800,000) registered voters in Lusaka to vote for the ruling party.-Daily Revelation
