Police say the have started investigating UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and Chishimba Kambwili.

According to the Zambia Daily Mail, the police are investigating HH and Kambwili for defaming president Edgar Lungu.

According the Daily Mail, HH and Kambwili last week accused Lungu of being the owner of the 48 ‘mysterious’ flats in Chalala.

Peter Chanda, who says he is the president of New Congress Party, then reported the two opposition leaders to police.

‘Last week, we received a report from Mr Chanda of the new congress party who complained that Mr Hichilema and Mr Kambwili accused president Lungu of being the owner of the 49 houses in Chalala. We have since started investigations,’ deputy police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga told the government newspaper.

  1. And some opposition leaders with a much stronger language walk the streets freely.. Just because HH has a large following he should hot be given political space to walk freely, very unfair.. Things are falling apart.
