PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU APOLOGIZES FOR MISLEADING ZAMBIANS OVER THE MAZABUKA / KAFUE ROAD
By Watch Reporter
President Edgar Lungu has apologized to the nation for a misleading statement and pictures over the construction of the Kafue/ Mazabuka road.

President Lungu says the pictures which were used to show the works on the Mazabuka/Kafue road do not represent the actual works as they were taken in another country.

The pictures have attracted serious public outcry, with some Nigerians claiming the pictures too.

Later in the day, President Lungu removed the said pictures with an apology.
Meanwhile former Presidential Aide Dickson Jere has expressed concern over the misinformation from the office of the President.
Jere says heads must roll for embarrassing the Head of State.

Heads Must Roll
By Dickson Jere
I rarely comment on the work of State House – media team – because I once served in that role and I understand the pressure and difficulties that come with those jobs. However, certain mistakes can never be forgiven. One such is this one where the Presidential handlers used picture of road construction from another country saying it was in Zambia!
Just how?

State House has two full-time photographers backed by ZANIS team. How can one embarrass the Head of State in this manner and still keep the job? My brother Isaac Chipampe ought to be firm and make sure those running the Facebook page of the President are read a “riot act”.

My comment is actually triggered by the fact that I am a practicing Intellectual Property (IP) lawyer and one of the things we frown upon badly is plagiarism! You cannot use someone work (picture in this case) without attributing it to the author. What if Zambia is sued???? This is embarrassing to say the least and will soon go viral on international press.
We need to respect the office of the President and maintain the required decorum. Using someone picture from another country is simply unforgivable!

  1. Was it President Lungu who erroneously posted that Nigerian photo on social media? You see the way we Zambians with our corrupt way of thinking leaves much to be desired. How can that be an issue, and yet you are the same charecters who are trying to mislead Zambians with cheap political retorics. God is looking at your hearts. So get prepared for the worst in life. God is longer by your side. By By polio.

  2. Shame! The whole of the President trying to cheat the whole country just like he cheated a poor widow. Cheating is in his blood.
