Austrian based Zambia national team star striker Patson Daka says he is proud to represent his country in Europe.
The Chipolopolo forward described the support he and teammate Enock Mwepu get from Zambia as amazing and went on to say Redbull Salzburg is now the most supported team in Zambia.
“It’s amazing how Enock and I and the whole club are supported. Red Bull Salzburg is now the club with the most fans in Zambia. I am happy to be able to represent my country,” he said.
Like many Zambian players, Patson Daka loves to celebrate his goals with a somersault but revealed that head coach Jesse Marsch has in the past told him to avoid doing it every time.
“Jesse has already told me not to rejoice too often with the somersault,” he said.
When asked about the season so far Daka said he felt good this season and is proud to be at Salzburg.
“This season feels very good to me and the whole team in general. I’m proud to be here and help the team,” he said.
“Each game offers different challenges. I know that I always have to be ready. We know what to do.”
The former Nchanga Rangers and Power dynamos player has been in fantastic form this season scoring 15 goals in all competitions. He will have a chance to better his tally on Sunday when Salzburg make the trip to face Admira Wacker.
