Police officers led by Sesheke District Officer Commanding Shapa Wang’uma today raided a guest house where Patriotic Front (PF) youths are lodging.
Smart Eagles, a Facebook page run by State House, has reported that officers arrived at around 07:00 hours at Brender’s Guest House and forcefully entered rooms of PF members who were sleeping.
The operation has reportedly yielded a number of offensive weapons.
And Diamond TV reports that fighting between the PF and the UPND has erupted in the midst of voting in the Sesheke Parliamentary by-election whose results are expected tomorrow.
Diamond TV is trying to independently confirm the culprits between the PF and UPND but Police are information tight at the moment.
However, some cadres have reportedly been apprehended and instant justice meted.
The Sesheke by-election is being contested by the ruling Patriotic Front candidate Dean Masule while the opposition UPND has fielded Romeo Kang’ombe.
Other contestants are Lifuti Muhau representing the People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) and United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) is fielding Victor Kalimukwa.
The Sesheke Constituency has a total of 27, 872 voters with 43 polling stations.
