teacherSIMON ZUKAS PUT TO REST…PRESIDENT HH ATTENDS BURIAL

This morning we joined fellow mourners in putting to rest our country’s former Cabinet Minister and Founding Father, Simon Ber Zukas at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lusaka.

We draw a lot of lessons from Zukas including his desire for a just and equal society.

His dedication to duty and service even when he was advanced in age, is one admirable attribute for everyone to embrace.

Recently, we met at State House and discussed issues of democracy, good governance and economic development, therefore losing such a wise, elderly citizen especially at such a time when the nation seeks experience and expertise in running national affairs, is indeed regrettable.

We however encouraged his widow, Cynthia, to remain strong and that while in government we will work hard to ensure that democracy thrives in our country in honour of patriots like Zukas.

While fostering freedoms, human rights and liberties, we are working on restoring the economic fortunes for all our people, because this was the desire of the departed senior citizen, Simon Zukas and indeed all of us.

Late Honourable Minister Simon Ber Zukas has gone to be with the Lord but his legacy lives on. He ran his race and we must all do our part for the good of humanity in our communities. He has passed the baton on to us.

Rest in peace Cabinet Minister.

May God Bless our Country.
