NUPPEZ Seeks Audience with TCZ over Deadline for Payment of Practicing Licenses
The National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia (NUPPEZ) says it will this week engage the Teaching Council of Zambia over the deadline for payment of licensing fees. NUPPEZ Public Relations Officer Jacklyn Nawila Chimwanga says there is need for the Teaching Council of Zambia to extend the deadline in order to enable teachers raise the practicing license fees. Mrs Chimwanga says the union has received a lot of complaints from its members who are calling for the extension of the deadline set by the Council.
And Mrs Chimwanga said the Union appreciates the statutory mandate that the TCZ has which is to regulate teachers, their practice and professional conduct as well as provide for the accreditation and regulation of colleges of education.
Meanwhile, Mrs Chimwanga says she is optimistic that the renewal of teachers’ practicing licenses by the Teaching Council of Zambia will not be marred with irregularities. She has since appealed to the Union leadership across the country to be vigilant and see to it that professionalism and transparency prevails during the renewal exercise.
Mrs Chimwanga was speaking when she featured on QTV on Friday.
