THREE CHINESE ROBBED K70,000

Three Chinese were on Monday night robbed of over K70,000 by three criminals who were armed with two firearms.The thieves were wearing head socks and face masks.

Copperbelt Province deputy Commissioner of Police Crispin Chaambwa confirmed the incident but could not avail further details.According to one of the victims, Lin Zhen Zhu, of Buyabamba flats, the incident happened around 19:00 hours at Wan Shun Investment on President’s Avenue.

Ms Lin said the suspected criminals, who were using a language which sounded like Swahili, attacked her and her two brothers, Chen Ke Zhong, 42, and Chen Ke Quing, 40.She said the bandits, who were in possession of a pistol and an AK47 rifle, also got away with a Huawei wrist watch valued at K1,800 and a Huawei mobile phone worth K4,000.

Ms Lin said in an interview that the incident happened after she and her siblings knocked off from work and were heading home.She said upon reaching their house, they were attacked by the three, who were in a silver unregistered Toyota Corolla.“

They ordered us to come out of the vehicle and demanded money. I gave them K15,000….They went inside the house and searched but could not find any money,” she said.Ms Lin said the thieves locked her inside the house and took her brothers back to the shop together with two security guards who were manning the house.

She said at the shop, her brother, Chen, was ordered to open the door and got over K40,000, the Huawei phone and wrist watch.Ms Lin said after the incident, her brothers and the security guards were locked in the shop.

She said police went to the scene after she reported the matter.And in the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage, the bandits were seen attacking the victims.
