The Zambian National Soccer Team based in Australia, were crowned World Champions after beating Macedonia 2-0 in a tournament held in Perth, Australia.
Players based in Australia, who play for different clubs there form a national team of their respective country and compete in this tournament.
This World Cup which has been in existence for over 20 years comprises of 25 teams and is held annually. A tournament well organised, and sponsored by Chile nationals attracts the eyes of FIFA who gives them top FIFA referees to officiate in the tournament.
In an exclusive interview with Chipolopolo captain, Josam Muwowo who last played for a Zambian club in 2012 with Napsa Stars expressed delight that Zambia had finally clinched the biggest prize which had eluded them on several attempts with the last attempt having lost to Poland in the finals through penalties.
Muwowo thanked his team mates and the entire technical bench led by coach Sichilima on the efforts made to see to it that they win the prestigious trophy.
