VEEP INONGE WINA IS VIOLATING THE ELECTORAL CODE.

THE reports that vice-president Inonge Wina is flying around with the nominated RUNNING MATE, Prof Nkandu Luo, to president Edgar Lungu is a violation of Regulation 15(k) of the Electoral Code of conduct.

The regulation empowers only the sitting vice president and President to use government transport and other resources during campaigns and not the non sitting running mate or presidential candidates.

By carrying with Prof Nkandu Luo in her so called “working visits” to the countrysides whilst campaigning for her party, Vice-president Wina is displaying serious levels of impunity and abuse of public resources and must be censured, reprimanded and stopped by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ)

In addition, the involvement of the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) National Coordinator Mr. CHANDA KABWE in the vice-president Inonge Wina and Runningmate Prof Luo’ s campaign tours of the countrysides is of great concern esp that Mr Chanda Kabwe is a civil servant who is not supposed to be involved in active partisan politics.

He is also violating the Electoral Code of conduct with impunity and the Secretary to the cabinet is called on to discipline Mr Kabwe.

It is important at this time to warn civil servants of the likes of Kabwe to once respect the Electoral laws, procedures and regulation for the sake of electoral integrity.

Let the ECZ not give a blind eye to such electoral malpractices and abuses of public resources by sitting vice-president and President.

I submit.
