We as the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) are not moved by the desperate acts of disgraced Felix Mutati and his hired minions.
Mutati who is an expelled member of our party yesterday through his henchman a Raphael Nakachinda hired over 100 Unemployed Youths who posed as MMD members at the High Court. This hired crowd were clad in Mutati’s Chitenge which illegally have our Party Symbol and Slogan.
What we find surprising is that when the Party President Dr Nevers Sekwila Mumba was leaving the Court grounds, these hired crowds started celebrating and cheering for him. This just shows that they never knew what they were brought in to do.
Furthermore, the propaganda they spread that the Party’s National Secretary Ms. Winnie Zaloumis was almost sent to 7 days in prison by Judge Newa are totally false and shocking. Zimba, the lawyer for Mutati had applied that National Secretary, Winnie Zaloumis be sent to jail for refusing to answer one of his misdirected questions. The Court adjourned for three hours and when the trial resumed judge Newa never passed any judgement and Ms. Zaloumis continued being cross examined by the same lawyer, Mr Zimba.
What Mutati should know is that no amount of propaganda will stop the long hand of the law in bringing sanity to our party. We would like to encourage Mutati to reflect on his dismissal which symbolize several hidden messages. If he wants to play, we would like to warn him that he will be bruised.
Mr. Peter Phiri
