Hakim Ziyech’s two goals were not enough for the Atlas Lions as the Chipolopolo boys emerged 3-2 victors in an international friendly played in Morocco.
Zambia started on a bright note scoring in the 1st minute through Black Leopard’s striker Mwape Musonda following some scrappy defending from the hosts.
Ajax midfielder Hakim Riyech who is rumoured to heading to Arsenal in the English Premier league restored parity in the 24th minute with a powerful long range shot though Allan Chibwe could have done better in between the sticks.
First half substitute Klingsley Kangwa coming in place of injured Moses Nyondo restored Zambia’s advantage a minute to the break.
10 minutes after the break Chipolopolo captain Kabaso Chongo was caught napping by Morocco forcing him to make a mistake which led to a penalty coveted by Riyech.
It was however enterprising midfielder Enock Mwepu to give Zambia the victory, directing a low long range shot into the bottom right corner in the 74th minute in the process picking up a knock but he was able to dust it off.
The Chipolopolo boys are on an international tour and have so far played two international friends which also include a 2-1 loss to Cameroon on June 9.
In their final friendly match they take on Ivory Coast on the 19th of June in Abu Dhabi.
